钱塘大学正在建设中。它由杭州市政府与钱塘教育基金会合作创办，聚焦人工智能、数字经济等前沿交叉学科和新兴学科领域。钱塘教育基金会的创办人为钟睒睒，在2025年1月农夫山泉母公司养生堂集团的2024年会上，其宣布将在未来十年捐赠400亿元用于钱塘大学筹建。
